"When designing our salon located in the beautiful town of Sebastopol in Sonoma County, we wanted to bring a fresh and revitalizing salon experience that incorporated our values for sustainable, environmentally-conscious living with our design aesthetic that intended to heal the spirit. Our guiding statement is: "serving to re-envision the boundaries of beauty". To us, this short statement encompassed many aspects of not just hair salons, but also our cultural beliefs about what beauty is, where it comes from, how it is defined, and how we could be operating differently in our lives so that more of us can feel beautiful more often. After settling on Davines, a product line that is greatly aligned with these values, we were encouraged to get in touch with Green Circle to take our vision even farther. We are now going on almost three years of working with Green Circle to recycle, reuse, and repurpose nearly all bi-product and waste (yes, this includes hair!) that we generate on a daily basis. Most importantly, being a Green Circle Salon allows us to offer our employees and our clients the opportunity to be a part of something larger: altering our current paradigm of the beauty industry for the betterment of humanity."

At our salon, we understand how important it is to advocate environmental stewardship, to reclaim our habitat and urban spaces, and to advance positive green change.

Part of that advancement begins with our choice of hair care products. Davines products are made with natural ingredients using cutting edge technology that minimizes impact on the environment without compromising the quality or quantity of natural resources. Working together with LifeGate’s Zero Impact® Project they have adopted a Zero Impact® policy on many of their hair care lines, including their essential products, the OI line, and the SU line. Check out some of their eco-tips for your home and salon here.

As Green Circle Certified Salon, we ensure that between 85-95% of all our salon’s waste is managed in an environmentally responsible way. Last year we recycled 294 pounds of waste.

As we continue to grow, we are always looking for new and improved ways in which we can reduce our footprint, and leave this earth as good as, or better, than we found it.
